Gigi Hadid Lost a Shoe on the Anna Sui Runway

Over the years, we’ve witnessed some pretty unfortunate runway mishaps, but models are nothing if not consummate professionals and, when faced with an outfit snafu on the catwalk, they usually take it in stride. That, quite literally, is what Gigi Hadid had to do at Anna Sui this evening, when she found herself down one stiletto—though you wouldn’t even realize it, because at no point did her strut waver.

Hadid was gearing up to close Anna Sui’s Spring 2018 show, wearing her second look from the collection. The getup required a full head-to-toe change, down to the footwear—and, it seems that, in the backstage rush, one of her heels wasn’t properly secured. So, as she was following sister Bella down the catwalk, she continued to walk as if nothing had happened…except, if you look really closely, you’ll notice she’s simply walking on the tip of her toes.

Selena Gomez’s Makeup Is Winning New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week aside, September has been busy for Selena Gomez. She’s now living (temporarily and reportedly) with her boyfriend The Weeknd and has been spotted filming a new movie all up and down Manhattan. Oh, she also just got a puppy, which appears to be of the too-small-and-cute-to-yet-be-housebroken variety, and—to top it off—she has a new Coach collection to rep.

Despite her very busy schedule, she’s still managed to give us life every time she leaves the house—each look better than the next, which is saying something because her hair and makeup has been so good. They’ve honestly been as fresh and intriguing as anything we’ve seen come down the runway. We’re basically Leslie Jones–ing over Sel right now.

“This pageant came about because FCS board member Lou Vargas wanted to revive the rich relationship of the LGBTQ communities and the Filipino Community of Seattle,” says Manila.

“Historically, gay pageants have always been more than just opportunities for drag queens and transfolk to parade in gowns and crowns.

“In addition to being a great event for LGBTQ folks to celebrate our colorful community, pageants have always been a social and political movement that reminds mainstream folks about the diversity of gender, and the existence gender-variant folks.”

New York Fashion Week is making serious strides towards greater inclusivity. Though the festivities do not conclude until Sept. 13, a historic first was achieved last year, with every runway show featuring at least one model of color.

According to data from The Fashion Spot, non-white models comprised over 31 percent of the fashion week’s rosters in February 2017. Stunners including Alicia Burke and Mayowa Nicholas were some of the most casted models overall.
